Malaysia is represented by the Malaysian High Commission located in Canberra and a Consulate General in Perth (email: malperth@kln.gov.my).

The Malaysian Student’s Department is located in Sydney.

There are other Malaysian offices scattered around Australia, e.g. MIDA, MATRADE, Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines, to name a few.

The major Malaysian organisations in South Australia are:
1. Australia Malaysia Business Council AMBC.
2. Malaysia Club of South Australia – MCSA.
3. Malaysian Students Council of Australia (South Australian Chapter) – MASCA.

For Australians travelling to Malaysia, a visa is not required (as at 27 September 2010) subject to the following:

1. Your passport has a balance of validity of six months on each date of entry into Malaysia.
2. You will be visiting Malaysia for a social visit, i.e. as a tourist.
3. You have a outward bound travel ticket.

In addition to the Embassies, High Commissions, Permanent Missions, Consulates General and Consulates, the Malaysian Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia has also appointed prominent individuals in foreign countries to assist Malaysia in achieving its policy of forging greater people to people contact, enhancing trade and economic activities and extending consular assistance.

In this respect, the Ministry has to date, appointed 52 Honorary Consuls in major cities in 39 countries across the globe.
